Latest News (a.k.a. Blogging Old School)
26 October 2005
My latest project is a Wiki sub-site at http://www.ourpeachtreecorners.com.
I also have a blog now at http://rbrightwell.blogspot.com.
I see that I also failed to mention my online
loan amortization schedule program. Like the TV application,
it's written in C# and ASP.NET.

Ever wanted to know how much TV you are getting for your money? Which
TV is bigger, widescreen 16:9 or fullscreen 4:3? Well now you can
compare TVs with my
new TV sizing web application.

I'm so happy to report that my Costa Rica web pages and pictures
resulted in reuniting and father and daughter who had been searching
for each other for 15 years. Read the story here.

My pet peves and rants
are now available for general consumption. If you wanna hear me complain about what annoys me then you should enjoy this. You might should also seek professional help... but that's just my opinion. hehe. 16 Sep 2003
My IPAdvisor
software/service is now available to the general public. I've set
up a test shopping cart to explore
future e-commerce uses. The best item for sale is probably Oscar
Wagner.

Today I discovered today that I had been induced into the Dull
Men's Club. I'm very honored to have my Internet Museum of Safety
Razors listed on their site of museums
for other Dull Men to visit. Dullards of the world... unite! :-)
I am also honored to have been mentioned on the
J-Walk Weblog. It's quite interesting, so check it out.
Creekstone Systems is my software development and consulting company.
We do programming, networking, and web development. Many of our projects
have been for the medical comunity including Children's Healthcare
of Atlanta and Harvard Medical Center. I am the principal consultant/developer
for the company. My wife assists with office work, book keeping and
some web development if time permits.
Lots of people don't know that I've been collecting safety razors
since the late 1980's. I've got over 300, some over a hundred
years old! Shaving is a very personal experience. One
which is sometimes painful and was until recently dangerous.
Razors come in all shapes sizes, and colors. Some are fancy
gold plated ones, others disposable plastic ones. Some are very
elaborate, with built in sharpening devices and heads which can be
tilted to different angles. For the very brave there are even
electric vibrating safety razors and I use the term "safety"
loosely!
I have been a dedicated member of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1984.
I was raised in the truth, as was my wife. We currently attend the
South Alpharetta congregation in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA.
One thing that has fascinated me from a young age is my family history. Using the
internet and some leg work I come up with quite a bit of info. Not all of it is here
but this is a good start. I'm especially proud of the log cabin my Grandfather
built.
Here is another subject that has, for some inexplicable reason, fascinated
me. I enjoy discussing these things with my friends and family.
I have decided to collect some of the information I've found helpful
over the years and put it all in one spot everyone can reference.
Amateur Radio
I have been a HAM radio operator since 1993. As of June 2003 I am
still a "No-Code" Technician but am currently studying for
my General license. I am most often found on one of the 2 meter repeaters
while riding around Atlanta.
Not too many years ago, my wife and I went to Costa Rica to drum
up a little business and investigate living there. Along the
way we had lots of fun and made some new friends. Here are some
pictures from our trip
My grandfather was a professional aritist and my parents both dabbled
in art. Perhaps this was what influenced me, or not, but I really
enjoy art. Visiting museums is a great way to be exposed to a wide
variety of art so while traveling I frequently try to visit local
museums.
