This page about safety razors is visited more than 20 times per day by people from all over the world. That's without ever having registered with a search engine! I guess more people are interested in safety razors than I knew. :).  

Welcome to the Internet Museum of Safety Razors! What you will eventually find here is a a comprehensive catalog of over 300 safety razors, related items, their photos, markings, and some of the history behind the razors.  At least that is the goal. I am currently about a third of the way through documenting my personal collection. As I acquire additional information from other collectors, and from expanding my own collection, I will continue to update these pages.   Thanks for visiting.

April 26, 2004 - Due to contraints on my time I'm postponing the book for at least another year. Thank you to those who have written expressing interest.

May 8, 2003 - Added information and pictures about the Kampfe Brothers, inventors of the safety razor, and posted pictures of one of the original style razors I own. This goes hand in hand with the article about King Camp Gillette that I wrote for the Wikipedia Encylopedia. Removed the forum since it had stopped working.

June 28, 2001 - Corrected link to Razor Blade Gallery on the "other sites" page.

June 26, 2001 - Updated email address for Rolls Razor, Ltd.

June 16, 2001 - Updated the FAQ to answer more questions I've been recieving via email. Added additional information about obtaining Rolls Razors, parts, and service.

August 6, 2000 - Recieved some additional information about the Rolls Razor recieved from Mr. Francis X. Donofrio, President, Rolls Razor Ltd. Thank you Mr. Donofrio!

August 21, 1999 - Added a new links page with links to other sites of interest.  Added JavaScript code to force loading of bottom frame when coming from an external link such as a search engine or a links page.  It looks better, don't you think? :-)  Prettied up the Gem, Gillette, Schick, and Other pages a bit.  Added information to the FAQ about where to buy old razors.  Thinking seriously about cataloging some more razors soon.  Need to check all my razors for Y2K problems. I'm kidding!!!  Har de har har.
