Here's what I remember.  If any of this information is incorrect please notify me via email at the address below.

Born in Danville, Va. in 1907.  Worked as a sharecropper with his family while growing up.  Served in the Army where he became a champion feather-weight boxer. Married to Fanny Mae Rutledge on April 1, 19??.  Moved to Winston-Salem, N.C. where he built a log house from discarded telephone poles. (top right) This is where Tommy Lee was born.  Later moved to house/apartment building on Sunset Blvd. (bottom right) where he worked as a sign painter and artist creating many advertising props for the Carolina Theatre and other businesses.  During this time he and Fanny accumulated numerous rental properties and lots in and around Winston-Salem.
